Popular Singer Simha Bhagavatula to perform in Auckland

In aid of Sri Venkateshwara Temple at Dorothy Winston Centre on April 12 at 5.30 pm

Simha Bhagavatula, known mononymously as Simha, will present his popular Telugu songs at Dorothy Winstone Centre, Auckland Girls Grammar School, Newton, Auckland on April 12, 2025.

Organised by the Auckland-based ‘SB Music Magic Group,’ the Karaoke music show aims to raise funds for the proposed Sri Venkateshwara Devasthanam in South Auckland.

Simha’s daughter Sai Tejaswi and son Naga Soma Sai Vishal Bhagavatula will accompany the iconic singer at the Concert which will begin at 5.30 pm.

Show Organisers Govardhan Mallela, Vasu Kunapuli and Suneel Kuncha said that tickets, priced at $30 per adult and $20 for children up to 14 years of age are now available.

Mr Mallela said that Simha has an impressive record of blockbuster songs over the past 10 years in Telugu films for Stars including Mahesh Babu, Pawan Kalyan, Allu Arjun, Balakrishna, Jr NTR, Ram Charan and Ravi Teja and many others.

“He has worked with popular music directors like Devi Sree Prasad, Taman, Mani Sharma and the late Chakri. Some of his super hit numbers are from the movies Srimanthudu, Sardar Gabbar Singh, Race Gurram, Temper, Bruce Lee, Kick 2, Krack, Alludu Seenu, Liger, Pandaga Chesko, Rabhasa, Simha, Dictator and many other movies,” he said.

Mr Mallela described Simha as a ‘big crowd puller with his dynamic stage performances.’

“Simha is very popular in the USA, Canada, Dubai, the UK, Singapore and Malaysia. He has travelled widely with most of the current popular Telugu music directors to perform in their shows along with his daughter and son. He is flexible to include the songs of other playback singers to keep the audience engaged and entertained according to their choice,” he said.

Mr Mallela appealed to Devotees of Lord Venkateshwara, philanthropists and businesses to support the forthcoming show.

“We look forward to your support through sponsorships, advertisements, sale of tickets and donations. The proposal to construct an abode for Lord Venkateshwara in Auckland is a longstanding desire of thousands of Devotees for almost 30 years,” he said.

About Simha Bhagavatula

Born on 4th June 1987 in Hyderabad, Telangana, Simha’s journey to stardom is a testament to his talent, perseverance, and passion for music.

His musical journey began at a young age, influenced by his family’s love for music. He was inspired by the legendary Kishore Kumar, whose songs he often sang during his formative years.

Simha’s big break came when he was introduced to the film industry by the renowned Music Composer Chakri. His debut song, ‘Neevu Nenu’ from the film Nenu Pelliki Ready (2003), marked the beginning of a prolific career.

Simha’s rise to prominence was marked by his collaborations with some of the most notable Music Composers in the Telugu film industry, including S Thaman and Devi Sri Prasad.

His versatility and unique voice quickly made him a favourite among composers and audiences alike. Songs like ‘Cinema Choopistha Mava’ from Race Gurram, ‘Alludu Seenu’ from Alludu Seenu, and ‘Dhimmathirigae’ from Srimanthudu became chartbusters, cementing his status as a leading playback singer.

Simha’s contributions to the Telugu music industry have been widely recognised. He won the prestigious Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer (Telugu) for his song ‘Cinema Choopistha Mava’ in the film Race Gurram.

Over the years, he has lent his voice to numerous hit songs, each showcasing his ability to adapt to different musical styles and genres. His discography includes popular tracks from films like Kick, Bruce Lee: The Fighter, Sarrainodu, and Bengal Tiger.
