Eleven-Year old Nishitha Maarka has done her parents, teachers and peers (at Cobham Intermediate School, Burnside, Christchurch) proud with her achievements in Tennis.
The youngster has been selected by Tennis New Zealand to represent the country at the Under 11 Australian Championship matches beginning in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia on June 30, 2019.
She will be among the athletes to compete in the Under 11 and Under 13 Team Event to be held at the KDV Sports Academy, located at Carrara, Gold Coast.
The Fixtures
The five-day event will witness the participation of teams from Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia, Western Australia, Victoria, Tasmania, Pacific Oceania, Japan and Hong Kong.
These matches will be followed by the Individual Rod Lave Lead-In Championship (July 4 to July 9, 2019) and the Rod Laver Championships (July 9 to July 14, 2019) in Brisbane.

Significant achievements
As reported by Indian Newslink on May 28, 2018, Nishitha was the winner at her first overseas tennis tournament held in Melbourne from March 30 to April 2, 2018.
She was a runner-up at the Bendigo Tennis Association 2018 McDonalds Classic 10 and Under Girls Singles Tournament played in Melbourne.
She received a Gold as the winner of the Under 10 Girls Doubles Tournament, with her Doubles Partner Yasmin Matthew.
Ten days later, Nishitha scored Silver as she became a runner up at the Tennis Central Tier 2 Technifibre Junior Open 2018 Girls 10 and under Singles in Wellington.
She was honoured by the Indian community at an event held here on Saturday, June 9, 2018.
