We are sorry to report the death of Mr Jagadeesan Chandrasekaran, father of Prema (Anitha) Jagadeesan and father-in-law of Maninilavan Arvikkuarasu (respectively current Executive Member and former President of Muthtamil Sangam Auckland) in Chennai yesterday, April 2, 2020.
Mr Jagadeesan was 77 years old and suffered from brief illness. He left behind his wife Vasantha, two daughters (Prema and Sangeetha), a son (Satish) and grandchildren.
Renowned Legal Counsel
An advocate with 50 years of experience in Puducherry (Pondicherry) a city-state about 152 kilometres from Chennai, Mr Jagadeesan was known for his kindness and care of the needy.
“He has helped thousands of people in his long and impressive career as an advocate. He will be missed by all of us. We are grieving here in Auckland as we are unable to travel to India because of the Covid-19 lockdown. I was fortunate to be with my parents along with my younger daughter Anichen in January 2020 to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary,” Prema said.
She said that her siblings are with the family in Chennai.
In a communication, Muthtamil Sangam Secretary Kathir Sam expressed his condolences on behalf of the Executive Committee and members of the Association.
