In all the years that we have known her, Neha Sandhu nee Bhatia has been an ever-smiling and ever-friendly young woman, whose mellifluous voice has captivated tens of thousands of listeners in the Great Auckland region through the waves of Radio Tarana.
We are not sure whether it was that voice or the smile that pierced the heart of Jasdeep Jagjit Sandhu, a Hotel Management Graduate (from UK), employed at the Punjabi Dhaba chain of Restaurants but when the two started seeing each other last year, we knew that there was a perfect recipe for marriage.
Since she came under the tutelage of Art of Living Foundation Founder Sri Ravi Shankar through her mother Rashmi (who is currently the President of the New Zealand Chapter), Neha has been even more a disciplinarian than she was in Tripoli, Libya (where she was born) and New Delhi (where she was raised).
She was indubitably thrilled when Jasdeep popped the question and with the blessings of parents of both, the Wedding became a sweet affair.
Neha and Jasdeep celebrated their ‘Legal Marriage’ at a Reception held at Stamford Plaza Hotel on March 11 at which a host of their friends, colleagues and well-wishers were present.
But the bigger event is yet to come. They plan to have an elaborate, traditional Punjabi Wedding in Chandigarh, the hometown of Jasdeep in November.
