The Christchurch Police are seeking information relating to a man who is believed to have been involved in an aggravated robbery at a service station last night.
Detective Sergeant Mike Freeman of Christchurch Police said that at about 820 pm last night (Friday 24 August), a male offender entered the Challenge Service Station on Blighs Road armed with a claw hammer (pictured).
Attendant threatened
“The man threatened the attendant with the hammer before making away with cigarettes and cash. He was wearing a distinctive black cap with a white logo and carrying a black backpack, also with a white logo. The male was last seen running down Blighs Road toward Wairakei Road,” he said.
Mr Freeman said that the Police are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has any information about the man involved.
