Auckland United is a newly formed football franchise operating out of Centre Park, 101 Robertson Road, Mangere.
Playing in the ASB U20 National League, this franchise was formed with the intention of providing young footballers of South Auckland the platform that they need to showcase their great talent at the highest level in the country.
South Auckland football enthusiasts have been working on this initiative for a long time. South Auckland has half the clubs in Auckland, but the players have never had an opportunity to represent their district.
However now, they have the chance to battle with the big boys.
Opening Day
· The programme for the Club-Opening Day on December 14 at Mangere Centre Park from 11 am to 130 pm is as follows:
· Free coaching clinics for children starting at 11 am, regardless of whether they already play for a team
· Bouncing Castle, Water Slide and face-painting in supporter’s colours
· Opportunity for older players to go One-on-One with a New Zealand Futsal player or a game against the team
· Entertainment including Indian, African, Fijian, Cook Island and Kapa Haka performance, and a traditional welcoming Kava ceremony for football delegates
· Food stalls and carnival treats
Raising talent
Auckland United provides a huge opportunity for local talent to shine at the National level. However, this can be achieved only with community support.
To ensure that Auckland Football progresses from here, the Club invites families to Center Park (on December 14) to enjoy entertainment items before watching the boys debut against the NZ Fijian side at 2 pm.
