The Nauhria Group, one of the premier organisations known for its pursuit of high value relationships with customers and staff, won the Supreme Award of the Westpac Business Excellence Awards (Auckland South) recently.
The South Auckland based Company was the source of inspiration and applause at the event organised by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Auckland Tourism, Events and Economic Development (ATEED), an Auckland Council Controlled Organisation, at Vodafone Events Centre in Manukau on October 8.
The Company won the Award for Excellence in Innovation, while its General Manager Rakesh Nauhria won the Award for Excellence in Business Leadership. It was also a finalist in Business Excellence in Strategy and Planning category.
The Nauhria Group was a finalist in two categories at the Westpac Auckland South Awards in 2014. The Company has put in place significant expansion plans in its precast and reinforcing steel businesses resulting in significant growth, development and a refinement across all aspects of their business while catering to the rapidly increasing demand of Auckland’s construction industry.
Nauhria Precast Limited won the ‘Supreme Business of the Year Award’ at the Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards in 2014.
It also won the ‘Business Excellence in Innovation’ and the ‘Best Large Business’ Categories at the Awards Ceremony held at Sky City Convention Centre on November 24, 2014.
Good Governance
Apart from winning the Supreme Business of the Year Award and the two individual categories, Nauhria Precast Limited was also a finalist in the Business Excellence in Marketing. The Company is a manufacturer of precast concrete products used in the construction industry.
An independent panel comprising ten judges evaluated the entries. The judges said in their report that Nauhria’s professional standards of leadership, planning and management were among the very best they have seen. They were unanimous is selecting the Company as the winner of the ‘Supreme Business of the Year,’ saying that they were impressed with the process of good governance.
Vision & Mission
They commended Nauhria’s clarity of vision and objectives, and ability to execute plans.
“Growth is the overriding aspiration of the vision, with a goal to provide employment to their community of employees and meaning to their family business. This is a company with good values resulting in excellent sales growth and high levels of staff and customer satisfaction,” they said.
Nauhria is committed to high standards of performance but shows remarkable openness and humility when actively seeking input for improvements from customers and staff. Productivity index monitoring is sophisticated and innovative and drives steadily improved throughout its operations, the judges added.
“An innovation board leverages ideas from employees at every level, which flows through to product innovation for the customer and efficiencies for the company. The Company has award-winning product innovation and the methods adopted to promote innovation in the company are commendable,” they said.
