Model of the Fortnight – Raina Farrer

Opportunity knocks suddenly one day in Perth

Perthites (or Perthians or Perthlings) will identify the young beauty in ‘Ek Din Achanack’ (‘Suddenly One Day’), a forthcoming Hindi film as Raina Farrer, a teenager from the fourth most populous city in Australia.

They will also identify her as the younger sister of Alisha Farrer, who has now found a niche for herself in the Hindi film industry. Alisha was featured in our July 1, 2018 issue.

A Medical Student at the Curtain University in Perth, Raina is our Model of the Fortnight for another reason: She is a model by her own right and a rising dancer with a number of performances to her credit.

Suspense Thriller

‘Ek Din Achanack’ is being shot all over Australia and would see Neeraj Kalra as a debutant director, after a number of assistant roles for major producers.

“This is a suspense thriller based on a love story. A housewife (that is me) suddenly disappears and becomes the anxiety of everyone. What happens to her is something that will be revealed only in the film. I am confident that ‘Ek Din Achanack’ will be a turning point in the lives and careers of many of us,” Raina said.

“I also believe that it is a good start. Since the film is being produced in Perth, the shooting schedule will not affect my studies,” she added.

Visions of professions

Whether the film industry will embrace her remains to be seen but Raina has visions of becoming a Physiotherapist or Pharmacist, both professions that are of endless demand.

She holds a Certificate 2 in ‘Beauty Science’ and Certificate 3 in Retail Makeup & Skincare and is a recipient of many awards and accolades.

“I am grateful to my parents and my sister who have been great sources of inspiration, encouragement and strength. I am a lucky girl,” Raina said.
