I am reminded of the story of four candles- Candle of Love, Candle of Peace, Candle of Joy and Candle of Hope.
Sometimes in life we tend to blow off the Candles of Love, Peace and Joy but tend to keep the Candle of Hope burning.
With that Candle, we can once again light the other three candles.
That is what Diwali is all about; to keep the light of Hope burning; light over darkness; good over evil; and knowledge over ignorance, in spite of what is happening around the globe.
Commercial organisations and community associations in New Zealand are helping to strengthen the bond between people, remaining as a link to keep the rich culture and tradition of India alive.
We are very proud of the contribution of Indian organisations and communities in New Zealand and their leaders who are serving the needs of the Indian Diaspora.
On occasions like Diwali, we have an opportunity to say thanks to them. Wenceslaus Anthony is the Chairman of the India New Zealand Business Council. The above is a part of a speech that he delivered at the ANZ Diwali luncheon held at the Langham Hotel in Auckland on October 12, 2012. See related report in this Special Report.
