Senior member of the Indian community and lawyer Thakor Parbhu presented Certificates of Honour to a number of ‘founding members.’

Indian Newslink has not received the names of those honoured.

Mr Khar said, “The Meeting also committed to honour the first batch of life members including Balu Mistry, Keshaw Govind and Suresh Ramji. We are planning to revamp the Association and focus on issues that are crucial for people of Indian origin throughout New Zealand. MIA is known for its diverse membership and would take a lead role to fill the current vacuum in community representation,” he said.
