Local Boards funding community projects

Supplied Content

Auckland, June 20, 2016

If you have an idea for a project, activity or event that positively impacts your community, you can apply for a local board grant to help fund your initiative.

Local board grants help local groups and organisations provide services and initiatives that benefit Aucklanders.

Whether help is needed with a one-off project, a start-up or expansion, community grants acknowledge the contribution that local organisations make.

Grants rounds are available throughout the financial year from June 2016.

Quick response grants are usually for grant applications that are less than $2,000, while local grants are for larger amounts. All grants programmes support arts and culture, community development, environment and natural heritage, historical heritage, events and sport and recreation projects. Within each local board area, priorities for funding are aligned to local board outcomes and priorities set out in local board plans.

Information on all community grant programmes, including application dates and criteria are available at aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/funding, or call 09 301 0101 and ask to speak to a grants advisor. Please note that grants will only be searchable and active on the website once rounds have opened.

Specific priorities for funding by local board can be found at
