Little things warm up the summer spirit

Everyone loves summer, the time to get out and about and enjoy Nature at its best. This is also probably the best time to get really involved, keeping yourself busy doing a variety of things.

Hang out in the Sun as much as you can and beneficially you will receive a reasonable amount of Vitamin D. Try to catch up on your favourite sport, such as Swimming or Tennis to keep that summer body in shape. Even going for a walk with your dog is a healthy habit. After all these, you could perhaps treat yourself to one or two scoops of ice-cream!

You can also catch one of those blockbuster summer movies at the cinemas, tag along with a few friends, and hang out in the nearest park afterwards to relax and socialise!

Get creative

Try finding something creative that interests you, such as making your own ice cream, or bird feeder. Go crazy! Plant your sprinkler in your backyard, turn it on, and dance through it! Wet, wild, and wacky!

Did you know that summer is one of the best times to read?

You may not want to read something like ‘Goosebumps: The Curse of the Mummy’s Tomb.’ You may relish a mystery novel or even a fashion or celebrity magazine.

Find new opportunities to stack yourself up with new skills. Learn a new sport, recipe, or just catch up on one of your favourite hobbies.

Writing is a nice creative hobby. If you are into it, write your own stories! That is what I did in summer, and found it enjoyable.

Family time

Summer is all about fun, festivals, food, and family. Get together with your family and head off for a family outing, or invite friends over for a summer backyard barbeque. Gives you a chance to catch up with friends or even possibly make new ones!

With schools closed this may also be a chance to revise study notes, or get yourself new stationery for the new school year.

If you have to study during the break, do your homework in natural sunlight, maybe close to a sunny window. Research has shown that students who did this achieved grades about 25% higher than others.

Summer welcomes everyone with open arms. Indulge yourself in the summer fun, and make this summer a memorable one.

I wish all Indian Newslink readers a vibrant, joyous summer.
