Keralites mark Christmas in Christchurch

As usual, the Christchurch Malayali community represented by the Kerala Cultural Forum and the Christchurch Kerala Association, celebrated Christmas with a variety of entertainment programmes and delicious Kerala- style dinner.

The occasion was warm and friendly, sharing love and joy of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Saviour.

Santa Claus with his Gifts entertained children and adults.

The Malayali community is growing in the Canterbury region and both organisations held Christmas Carols for two weeks, visiting Kerala families, creating a friendly and homely environment.

Dr George Abraham is our South Island Correspondent based in Christchurch. The picture here shows members of the community at the Christmas get-together organised by the Kerala Cultural Forum.
