Jehovah’s Witnesses will begin their series of three-day annual conventions on August 4, 2017 with the theme ‘Don’t Give Up!’
The Programme will be held in select venues around New Zealand, including 10 conventions in Auckland from August 4 to October 6 at the South Auckland Assembly Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 160 Clevedon Road, Papakura.
As in the past, the Witnesses are participating in a campaign to personally invite the general public to attend. Admission to each event is free and no collections are taken. The Auckland Hindi Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses will be attending the
convention on August 4-6.
David A Semonian, Spokesman for Jehovah’s Witnesses based in the New York Headquarters said that nearly 13 million people attended the conventions held throughout the world last year.
“We hope to have an even larger audience this year.” The dates and locations for each convention can be found on the Witnesses’ official website, jw.org,” he said.
The Programme is divided into 52 parts and will be presented in a variety of formats, including brief discourses, interviews, and short videos.
Additionally, one segment of a three-part feature film entitled Remember the Wife of Lot will be shown each afternoon.
Challenges in life can rob us of peace and even cause some to think about giving up. Our convention this year will benefit both Witnesses and non-Witnesses because it promises to empower individuals not only to keep enduring but also to cope with challenges productively,” Mr Semonian said.
