Innovative approach adds exclusivity to Hotel

An ambience that bespeaks aesthetic beauty and elegance, eco-friendly environment, state-of-the-art facilities and amenities and a highly motivated and professional qualified management and staff are among the factors that distinguishes Sudima Hotel which has an airport attached.

The first property of the Sudima chain in Auckland (the others are located in Rotorua and Christchurch Airport) has an innovative approach that delivers services on a par with international standards.

Constructed at a cost of $30 million, Sudima Auckland Airport Hotel boasts of 153 well appointed rooms (including 26 Executive Rooms) and a Suite, facilities for seminars and conferences (up to 300 persons) with technical and equipment support and other banqueting and food & beverage services.

Its fully equipped gym and indoor heated swimming pool, a rarity in Airport hotels is perhaps another unique characteristic of this Hotel.

Sudima Hotels New Zealand (of Glamorton Developments Limited) Chief Executive Sudesh Jhunjhnuwala is justifiably proud of the new property.

From the time the one-hectare land was acquired in 2009 and the extensive planning and construction stages that began in 2010 to the completion and opening in May 2011, it has been a long journey of seeking the best to add value to the services offered to customers, he said.

Enhanced value

“We believe that Sudima Auckland Airport offers an array of modern hotel facilities and services for the comfort of our customers. We believe that they are not here for a stay, but for an experience. Therefore, normal rooms are of a meticulous standard, while our executive rooms and suite offer new level of style and comfort,” he said.

There is certain impeccable and inimitable style in everything that he seeks and does, all aimed at uncompromising standards of quality and value.

Born into a family known for business acumen, Mr Jhunjhnuwala kept his profession ticking as he managed the ‘Watch business’ in the world’s shopping paradise, before migrating to New Zealand more than 10 years ago.

“My first job was to start finding the tenants to fill the vacancy in our buildings and to manage and grow our business,” he said.

True to the adage that Nothing Succeeds like Success, his enterprises began to grow and expand, gratifying his family, friends, associates, suppliers and staff. He keeps a firm eye on the bottom line, which is why his little empire in New Zealand has a healthy balance sheet worthy of emulation.

A Wedding Venue

His wife Laxmi Jhunjhnuwala brings creativity of thought and expression to the property and is keen to see Sudima Auckland Airport is promoted as the ideal venue for Weddings.

“I believe this is an ideal location for an elegant and unique wedding. The ‘Pavilion’ could be the appropriate venue for a gathering of 300 guests, with an option of extension into the adjacent outdoor area, where a marquee can be set up to ensure quality and comfort,” she said.

Ms Jhunjhnuwala said the Hotel offers a number of advantages to those keen on making their wedding the most memorable day in their lives.

“Our experienced and talented event team will not only organise your wedding as per your design and desire but also ensure that it is a celebration of love that reflects your passions and dreams as a couple. Our Indian Wedding Coordinator is fluent in Hindi and can understand your specific cultural requirements.

“We also cater for any special food requirements including vegetarian or Halal menus,” she said and added that subject to availability and certain conditions, the Hotel will offer a complimentary bridal suite for those booking their weddings before the end of the year.

Indian Newslink readers will know her as an artiste, whose paintings have been on display and sale at a number of exhibitions in Auckland and Wellington over the past three years. Some of them adorn the Hotel’s rooms and lobby area.
