The world of Glamour is fascinating on ends, the onlooker and the participant.
From outside it looks ‘out of this world’, like the fairy tales from the Garden of Eden.
It looks beautiful and attractive.
People have various interpretations about the glamour world.
As a participant and an integral part of the profession I believe that it is a very different, difficult and challenging world.
As a photographer who has been creating glamorous images since many years, I have never considered it an easy task.
A lot goes into it.
The Challenges
The first challenge is to select a suitable model, who is best suited for the concept. Then comes the execution, to make the concept into reality. This includes briefing and discussions with the makeup artist, hair stylist and a dress stylist, and equally important, a team of creative directors.
The team then puts together a look or a frame, wherein everything from the props to the backdrop, the look of the model, to her expressions that convey the thought with utmost clarity.
Normally it is one visual, that either connect with you or not at all.
Initial impact
I believe that one also has to keep the audience in mind and the impact that a visual would have on them in the first two seconds.
The first glance of the visual has to tell the entire story that you have weaved together in your mind, and cast the spell on the viewer.
Some photographers work on their own concepts and I am one of them.
The images appearing here will give an insight into my world of glamour.
