How good is your Curriculum Vitae dude?

If you are in the market for a job, do you know that the first step to success depends on your Curriculum Vitae (CV)?

Do you know that almost all those involved in the selection process would gauge you from your CV and that a well-written resume is ‘half job done?’

Most of us fail to understand the importance of preparing an effective CV and hence find ourselves in the employment queue longer than necessary.

You may therefore find a forthcoming seminar being organised by the Shirdi Saibaba Temple of NZ Inc useful.

It will be held at the Sri Subramanian Temple, located at 41, Stanhope Road in Auckland from 2pm on May 22.

Secretary Ravi Chittajallu said two Human Resource Professionals will address the Seminar but did not give their names.

They will explain how to prepare an attractive and successful CV, he said.

“Employers, Human Resources Consultants and recruiting agents expect candidates searching for jobs to have their CVs as per the requirements of New Zealand companies. New migrants are often unaware of these requirements. In many cases, even those in the country since long ask for help,” he said.

But Mr Chittajallu said that neither his organisation nor those addressing the Seminar would guarantee jobs or acceptance of the CV by those concerned in the employment market.

“Our Seminar is only a guide. It would cover a number of subjects including how to structure a professional CV, what employers expect to see in a good CV and tips in its preparation. A Question & Answer session will also be held,” he said.

Entry to the Seminar is free. Further details can be obtained from Mr Chittajallu on (09) 8453239 or 021- 332922. Email: secretary@saibabatemple.org.nz
