Free food bags from Takanini Gurudwara tomorrow

Thousands benefit from Supreme Sikh Soceity generosity

Another 1500 bags of food items will be available to the public at Sri Kalgidhar Sahib, the Gurudwara owned and managed by the Supreme Sikh Society at 70 Takanini School Road, Takanini tomorrow, Monday, April 202, 2020 from 4 pm to 630 pm.

Anyone in need of food, irrespective of their religious beliefs can benefit from this noble gesture.

The Gurudwara has been designated as a food distribution centre by the Ministry of Health in terms of the Health Regulation Act promulgated to eliminate Covid-19.

Observe norms please

Gurudwara officials have appealed to the people to observe the norms in force, including social distancing and while visiting to collect the food bags.

“Volunteers will place the bags in their cars as they drive out of the Gurudwara,” an official said.

The Supreme Sikh Society has thus far given away more than 3500 food pockets since the beginning of lockdown on March 25, 2020..

Each bag contains milk, bread, vegetables, fruits and other items lasting up to four days.

The Society also owns and manages Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Sangat Gurdwara located at 120 Princess Street in Otahuhu, Auckland.
