One of the greatest attributes of this newspaper is the constant support and patronage that it receives from advertisers and well-wishers since inception.
Among them is Jack Dube, Chief Executive Officer of The Car Clearance Centre, based on Saleyards Road in Otahuhu, Auckland.
The Soccer enthusiast was instantly pleased when we discussed with him the Indian Newslink Indian Sports Awards 2012.
“This is a great initiative,” he said and instantly agreed to sponsor the ‘Best Veteran Over 35 Years Player of the Year Award.’
“I take much pride in supporting this venture as I believe in promoting sporting activities among the members of our community. I also believe that good sports lead to good health, which in turn leads to good human development,” he said.
Despite his business and social commitments, Mr Dube continues to play soccer and runs a Veterans Soccer Club in Auckland.
“I guess I will always be a soccer enthusiast and my association with the game dates back to my formative years in my native Fiji, where I was involved with ‘Combined Brothers,’ a renowned club in Suva. It is a matter of pride that the Club has produced a number of great soccer players,” he said.
