Electionlink prorogued

Electionlink will cease to be regular column after this issue, with the end of Election 2011 and a new Government and Parliament in place.

Officially launched by Prime Minister John Key (National) and Opposition Leader Phil Goff (Labour) respectively on June 10 and June 25, 2010 at our offices over Cocktails and Dinner, we hope that these pages have had their useful run giving readers a ringside view of politics as it evolved over the past 18 months.

We provided equal opportunity to both National and Labour, their MPs and candidates to state their policies and proposed action plan and both have utilised the chance to the best of their abilities. There were of course times when one party dominated these pages – purely by default and not of our doing.

We had also invited leaders of other minor Parties to have their say but these were few and far between.

Mr Key and Mr Goff have written regular columns in this publication, expressing their beliefs, recognising the important role played by our business and community leaders. A host of Members of Parliament have also participated in these pages, respecting our preference for exclusiveness.

We express our thanks to them and to other contributors.

Electionlink will be re-launched in June 2013 to prepare readers and leaders for General Election 2014. We hope we would continue to have the privilege and honour of our leaders, lawmakers, new candidates and contributors to make those forthcoming pages even more meaningful and useful.

It is all because, as we always say, there is someone precious for us.

You, Dear Reader.
