‘Shradhanjali’ is a visual dedication with veneration

Ekta New Zealand has been continuing its charity work even during the lockdown, observing the rules of the Alert Level 4 promulgated by the government to eliminate Covid-19.
The Wellington-based charitable organisation serves all New Zealanders with its inclusive policy, empowering through knowledge and capacity development and confidence growth by showcasing of heritage and culture.
On this Anzac Day, we pay tribute to our heroes through ‘Shradhanjali,’ a short film.
This is our humble effort to honour and remember them.
We are confident that it will also create greater awareness of the contributions of the war heroes from the Indian community more than 120 years ago.

Exhibition and appeal to government
Ekta New Zealand organised an exhibition in 2017 to remember soldiers of Indian and Chinese origin who were unfortunately omitted from the pages of New Zealand history, except for an Auckland online cenotaph and the national archives.
We have been making effort to create awareness among New Zealanders and people in rest of the world. We wrote to the Minister of Defence last year seeking acknowledgment of the ‘Other Anzacs.’
There has been no response thus far but we will continue to pursue our efforts.
Ekta New Zealand, of which Sunita Kaur Musa is a Coordinator, organised ‘Punjab under Siege,’ an exhibition relating to the ‘Jallianwala Bagh,’ last year. Organised jointly with New Zealand India Research Institute, it was held at St Peters Church from November 21 to 28, 2019 enabling thousands of Wellingtonians and other visitors to be informed of the massacre in which about 400 people were killed and more than 1000 people were injured.
