The microbiome is a collection of bacteria that reside in the gut.

It has widespread effects on the body ranging from digestive health, appetite, metabolism, and cognitive function to behaviour, and plays a fundamental role in the health and function of the immune system.

Conversely, the immune system has evolved as a means to maintain the symbiotic relationship with diverse and evolving microbes. This alliance between the immune system and the microbiota ensures active response to pathogens and the maintenance of regulatory pathways involved in the immune response.

Probiotics, the superhero

Over 70% of the immune system can be found in the gastrointestinal tract in the form of gut-associated lymphoid tissue (GALT).

One way to support gut health and the immune system is through the use of probiotics. Probiotics support the regulation of the digestive system, and healthy immune function, and serve as the first line of defence against ills and chills.

If the digestive system is unhealthy and has an overgrowth of bad bacteria or yeast, the immune system is compromised. A weakened digestive system is unable to break down food properly which means the body is unable to absorb all of the essential nutrients in food or supplements. This may contribute to allergies, digestive issues, poor immune health, and more.

Optimal health truly does start in the gut.

However, not all probiotics are created equal.

Did you know that most probiotics do not actually survive digestion?

A probiotic formulated with Bacillus spores will ensure that you are getting a probiotic that is highly resistant to the acidic pH in the digestive tract and stable at room temperature, as well as deliver a much greater quantity of high viability bacteria to the small intestine than a traditional probiotic supplement.

Bacillus spores

Bacillus spores produce nutrients to support immune health.

Let us break down how Bacillus spores are immune system support essential.

For probiotics to perform their functions, they must naturally survive the stomach’s harsh environment and arrive within the intestines alive. Over 95% of probiotics in the market today do not meet this criterion. To date, the most researched and widely used true probiotic strains are from Bacillus spores!

Research shows that Bacillus subtilis HU58 supports the development of GALT, which is critical to the formation of a properly functioning and robust immune system. It also produces nattokinase and vitamin K2, which are nutrients that are important for immune health.

Nattokinase is a pro-fibrinolytic enzyme widely known for helping the immune system respond to chronic or acute injury, and vitamin K2 plays a unique role in immune health and function as it is a cofactor for plasma proteins that affect immune responses particularly mediated by T cells.

Bacillus clausii is a potent immune modulator and maintains effectiveness during antibiotic treatment. Recent studies have shown its efficacy in the support of the innate immune system defence mechanisms as well as for recurrent respiratory issues.

Bacillus indicus HU36 is the only probiotic strain that produces the potent carotenoids lycopene, astaxanthin, beta-carotene and lutein, as well as quinols and a full spectrum of B vitamins in the intestines, exactly where they need to be absorbed. These antioxidants go to work by supporting the impacts of oxidative stress as well as the immune cells and beneficial bacteria needed to keep one healthy.

The L+ optical form of lactic acid that Bacillus coagulans produces possesses unique immunological properties that balance the immune response. B.coagulans can support the immune system by producing enzymes that support the facilitation of digestion and excretion, regulation of gut microbiota, and growth of good bacteria.

This combination of Bacillus spores works in synergy to support total immune system health.

The result is a healthier gut lining and an immune system that is better equipped to handle the unfavourable lifestyle and environmental factors which can lead to various health conditions.

Diverse Gut Microbiome

Research shows that a diverse gut microbiome is essential for a healthy immune system. Gutsi SporeBiotic is a 100% spore-based probiotic and antioxidant that is designed to help recondition the environment of the gut by promoting microbial diversity. It is a blend of 4 DNA-verified bacillus spore bacteria that are able to sense the environment of the gut, balance essential microorganisms, maintain healthy gut barrier function, and balance overall immune health.

Kiran Krishnan, Research Microbiologist & Gutsi formulator says, “A healthy, diverse microbiome provides critical signalling and the right energetics to the immune system to elicit proper immune function.”
