Dhirubhai Bhikha family bereaved in Auckland

We are sorry to report the demise of Bhanuben Bhikhabhai, mother of popular Auckland businessman Dhirubhai Bhikha (Managing Director, Horners Confectionery and Trustee of Mahatma Gandhi Centre Charitable Trust) passed away at Auckland Hospital today (September 2, 2021).

She was 86 years old.

Three generations

Bhanuben left behind her husband Bhikhabhai Chimanlal, four sons, a daughter, 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Born in Palsana, near Surat in Gujarat in India on July 3, 1936, she has been a resident of New Zealand for the past 25 years.

Her sons Amrat Lal (married to Pravina), Dhirubhai (married to Vina), Barwant Bhai (married to Ramila) and Natubhai Bhikha (married to Pravina) live in Auckland, while daughter Jasuben Kantilal Patel (married to Kantilal Patel) lives in England.

Among her eleven grandchildren are Pritesh, Jakin, Meeta, Rajesh, Vanisha, Deenisha, Deepika, Krishan, Heemesh, Dillan and Amisha.

Her six great-grandchildren are Nidhi, Dhru, Rayaan, Raahi, Avaiya and Nyah.

Funeral details

Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Because of the Covid-19 lockdown 4 restrictions, there will be no public service.
