‘Straight from the Heart’ on October 14, 2022, at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts

Living in a fast-paced society, where everyone has a bit more planned than they can manage in a day, it is such a pleasant experience to witness, perhaps the busiest and ‘essential professionals’ plan some time out, connect with the art of music and work for the greater good of the society.

Waikato in general, and Hamilton in particular, is proud of its talented medical team for putting together ‘Straight from the Heart,’ a Classical Concert to raise funds for technology and equipment in support of Cardiac Services at the Waikato Hospital.

The Concert will take place on October 14, 2022, from 7 pm at the Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts in Hamilton.

The event is being organised by the Waikato Heart Trust, an entity that has helped the Waikato Hospital Cardiology Department, which in turn has accrued benefits to the rest of New Zealand on various occasions in the past.

With support from the “Dame Malvina Major foundation,” the event aims to generate funds to enable the advancement of cardiology services and to fund new technologies and programmes to support the people in need of relevant medical facilities.

The evening, with an impressive line-up of performers, is sure to be a powerhouse of talent and entertainment, for a worthy cause to raise awareness around cardiac services within Waikato and the Bay of Plenty region.

Performing Artistes

A unique performance which defines the spirit and noble intentions of the show in more ways than one will be by Dr Madhav Menon, the Head of Coronary Intervention at the Waikato Hospital, who will be performing as a singer, accompanied by his talented daughters Mira Jade Menon and Maya Genesee Menon on the Violin and Cello, respectively. Hyemee Lee, a skilled Year 10 student, will be accompanying them on the Piano.

The concert will see performances by Madeleine Pierard and Kristin Darragh, both gifted and highly accomplished opera singers who belong to the Malvina Major Foundation Opera School at Waikato University.

Also performing will be Dane Moeke, an accomplished and well-known singer and a finalist at New Zealand Got Talent a few years ago.

Fiona Greaves, a musical theatre performer will also be a part of the evening to enhance the musical quotient for the avid lovers of the craft.

Fuimaono Brothers, upcoming artists gaining popularity just as the likes of Sole Mio will surely be performing to impress.

The organisers hope that New Zealanders will support the initiative and encourage it to become a regular event for the benefit of all.
