Chinmaya Mission quizzer of a different sort

One of the greatest attributes of the Late Swami Chimayananda (who this Reporter has met several times during his visits to the Arab Gulf) was his ability to bring together the old and young in family spirit and perform community work.

“Love is a consistent passion to give, not a meek, persistent hope to receive. The only demand of life is the privilege to love all,” he used to say.

The Grand Master who brought together millions of people of varied faiths and disposition passed away 21 years ago (August 3) in San Diego, California but his teaching and the Missions located across the Continents will continue to illuminate with knowledge and people who congregate to hear and go good.

Fun galore

The Chinmaya Mission in New Zealand pursues the ideals of the Founder and in that spirit, the Auckland Chapter is scheduled to conduct a quiz completion on Friday, September 19 at 630 pm at Mahatma Gandhi Centre, 145 New North Road, Eden Terrace.

Called, ‘Quiz Masti,’ the event promises to be more than just an ordinary Q&A session.

Chinmaya Mission New Zealand Trustee Ram Lingam said that the forthcoming programme, organised by the Youth Wing of the Mission (Chinmaya Yuva Kendra) would be “pure entertainment with six rounds of quizzing, a three-course meal, entertainment for children and many prizes to be won.”

Divya Hariharan and Rushab Trivedi will respectively be quiz master and anchor of the programme.

“Quiz Masti will be a combination of knowledge, entertainment, music and food, promoting family companionship. The Youth Wing of Chinmaya Mission New Zealand is organising this grand entertaining evening as a fund raiser for the Mission,” he said.

Wisdom workshop

Mr Lingam said that Brother Chaitanya will conduct a Workshop on ‘Everything you want to know about Karma’ at the Mahatma Gandhi Centre on Sunday, September 28 at 1 pm, details of which will appear in our next issue.
