The Black Caps are set to play their first Test series in England since 2015.

The England Cricket Board has announced a two-Test series against New Zealand to be played at Lord’s and Edgbaston in June.

New Zealand last played a Test in England in 2015, when the series was drawn 1-1. The Lord’s fixture will see them return to the scene of the dramatic World Cup final tie between the teams in 2019.

England hosted the West Indies and Pakistan in series’ last year without crowds and with the players restricted to grounds with accommodation.

However the ECB says they hope to have fans on hand for the games this year.

England will also host a limited-overs series against Sri Lanka and Pakistan this year before the five-Test series against India which could decide the finalists for the inaugural Test Championship final.

That fixture is set for Lord’s but no date has been confirmed.

“The prospect of our England Men’s team taking on the world’s two top-ranked Test nations in New Zealand and India this summer is something for us all to savour,” ECB Chief Executive Officer, Tom Harrison, said.

In 2015 England and New Zealand drew their two-test series with the home side winning the first game at Lord’s, while New Zealand won the second test in Leeds by 199 runs with BJ Watling scoring a century and Mark Craig and Kane Williamson taking three wickets each as they bowled England out for 255 in their second innings.

New Zealand last won a test series in England in 1999.
