If you have the talent to face the camera and pour out emotions, you could be the lead star in a film that goes to the floor soon.
Indian Newslink is assisting Auckland based Ample Films Limited in its search for a face that would reflect the feelings of a New Zealander Indian as she goes through love and life.
Director Athina Tsoulis and Producer Angela Hicks said that casting for their film ‘Stars in Her Eyes,’ would have a unique approach with a different angle.
For a start, they have sought people’s opinion on the selection of actors for various roles.
“We are looking at different ways of making feature films and an important aspect of this is to engage our audience early in the process to assist us in this exciting new venture,” they said.
‘Stars in Her Eyes’ is a romantic comedy that explores the trials of Anousha, a New Zealander Indian, as she looks for love while caring for her disabled mum.
“It is about Anousha who is trying to come of age, albeit later than most. It is essentially an immigrant story,” Ms Tsoulis said.
According to Ms Hicks, opportunities exist for many people of Indian origin in New Zealand to be a part of the film.
“We are hoping to find someone special for the lead role. There are also many other Indian roles to fill,” she said.
‘Stars in Her Eyes,’ would be a joint venture between Ample Films Limited and a major educational institution.
Indian Newslink would reveal the identity of the organisation and a few other details of the production as soon as we are allowed to do so.
“This joint venture will allow the film industry and students to work together and provide the latter with practical experience in film making. We hope to begin shooting on October 15. The film would be released throughout New Zealand in June 2013,” Ms Tsoulis said.
