The charm of womanhood will be the outstanding feature at a beauty contest scheduled to be held at Pukekohe Memorial Town Hall, located at 14 Massey Avenue in Pukekohe on Saturday, June 11, 2022.

The event, being organised by Sukhvinder Bhullar of Pageants of India New Zealand, will commence at 6.30 pm with 18 women vying for the Mrs India Classic 2022 title.

Fashion and Heritage

Pageants of New Zealand company also has the brands of Miss India Worldwide New Zealand and Mrs India New Zealand, encouraging women to get under the limelight of a confluence of fashion and glamour and culture and heritage.

Known for her commitment to lifting women from the confines of their homes or offices, Ms Bhullar has been at the forefront of organising beauty pageants for women of Indian origin on the national and international stages.

Since establishing Pageants of India New Zealand in 2014, she has not only been fulfilling her ambitions but also that of Indian women in New Zealand by creating for them a veritable platform to showcase their beauty and talent.

“I believe that Indian women should not bury their desire to achieve what they want for themselves. A beauty pageant is also an avenue where they get to display their talent, gain more confidence in themselves in different ways, and meet and make new friends. It is all about creating lifetime memories for themselves,” she said.

About Sukhvinder Bhullar

A qualified beautician, nail tech and hairdresser, beauty contests are her passion if not a profession. Having worked voluntarily backstage at various beauty pageants as a makeup artist and hairstylist, launching her own Indian beauty pageants was a natural extension of her desire to glorify the Indian woman.

Soon after establishing Mrs India New Zealand eight years ago, Ms Bhullar was appointed National Director for the New York-based Miss India Worldwide New Zealand, the biggest and oldest Indian beauty pageant outside India. Its Chairman and Managing Director Dharmatma Saran was pleased.

Later, Ms Bhullar added the titles of Mr India New Zealand and Mrs Punjaban New Zealand to her growing list of pageants.

She knew that she was taking on formidable challenges which included choosing and training contestants and making them achieve a certain level of professionalism.

“If I succeed, I will be happy but if I lose, I will be wiser,” she told herself.

However, she has had no occasion to regret it.

“I believe that organising events such as beauty pageants bring joy as well as problems. Learning and growing after each event has been my best teacher. I am grateful to my family, friends, associates, sponsors and contestants for their support, encouragement and cooperation. I am proud of my contestants, who have represented New Zealand at various international Indian beauty contests,” she said.

Ms Bhullar is grateful to the companies that have sponsored her events, reposing trust in her ability. She is thankful to businessman Sandeep Raju for his support over the years.

“Pageants of India New Zealand supports community welfare organisations. This year we are supporting Sahaayta Counselling Services,” she said.
