Vegetarianism is no more a fashion statement. With an increasing number of people realising the importance of healthy living and maintaining environmental balance, it is becoming a Movement.
Happily, more and more young men and women are becoming conscious of animal welfare. Among them is Sarah Marie, our Model of the Fortnight.
The 20-year-old Auckland based Model, Make-up Artist and Tattooist willingly joins any group that wages a war against those perpetrating cruelty to animals.
“I am a great lover of animals. I have four pets and I love them dearly. I follow a strict vegan diet, avoid all animal products and do my bit to promote good health and environment,” she said.
Beauty comes naturally for this young woman who loves everything good in life.
Her mobile service called, ‘Bombshell Beauty,’ explains her mission statement, exposing her passion for Vintage (1950s) glamour, fashion and culture.
It was therefore no surprise that she won the ‘Miss Hot Rod Blowout Queen 2011,’ a competition for best-styled model of 1950s glamour.
She adores American burlesque artist, model and actress Dita Von Tesse but quickly adds that her expertise is not restricted to this style or just pinup and tattoo modelling.
“Tattoos are becoming more and more mainstream,” she said.
We pretended to understand!
“I think skin is beautiful and so is art; combining the two is beauty,” she said.
While she is currently busy promoting herself as a model and makeup artist, Sarah hopes to establish her own clothing and makeup line in the future.
“I enjoy working out in the gym, designing and stitching my dance and modelling costumes working on my routines and planning shoots,” she said.
Sarah will be off to Australia and America later this year to promote her modelling career.
