An extensive store for every family

The growth of supermarkets owned and operated by people of Indian origin has added value to the shopping public and over the years, they have become significant competitors to the mainstream organisations.

India Big Bazaar, located in the South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe is among the largest Indian departmental stores in New Zealand with an extensive and ever-expanding range of products and services.

Directors Vikram and Payal Madaan said that Big Indian Bazaar lives up to its name, retailing ‘almost any household product that customers can find under the same roof at affordable prices.’

As well as kitchenware, clothing, imitation jewellery and handicrafts, the Departmental Stores makes available musical instruments, herbal cosmetics, novelties, handcrafted furniture, rugs and carpets.

“We also sell elegant lights, flower vases, gas stoves, religious books, idols of Hindu Gods and Pooja items. We import these products directly from India, China, Thailand, Dubai, US and other countries. The market is fiercely competitive and hence we work hard to provide products that are better in quality and price,” Mr Madaan said.

The couple are perfect partners in business, each with a passion to enhance choice and promote high standards of quality and personalised service.

India Big Bazaar has a branch of Relianz Forex Limited, adding a new dimension to retailing in New Zealand.
