Bollywood Hungama recently reported that Akshay Kumar and Ranjit Tewari are teaming up once again after Bell Bottom and the film in question will go on the floors during August. The website also informed its readers that the film in question will be shot in London. Soon thereafter, a media house reported that this is the official remake of Tamil classic, ’Ratsasan.’ Here is another exclusive scoop.
“It’s titled ’Mission Cinderella’ and Akshay plays the role of a cop in the film.
The makers are planning to shoot it in London with some locations around in the United Kingdom. It is an action thriller, with Akshay on the run to track down a child abduction racket, which has been called ‘Cinderella.’
One film, many titles
The producers are tentatively referring to the film as ‘Project Cinderella,’ and have registered titles such as ‘Cinderella’ and ’Mission Cinderella with the association,” a source informed Bollywood Hungama.
Interestingly, this would be Akshay’s next remake film after ‘Laxmi,’ a remake of Kanchana Remake, and the soon to release, ’Jigarthanda’ remake, ’Bachchan Pandey.’ It will be produced by Jackky and Vashu Bhagnani and the makers and work has begun. It features Rakul Preet Singh as the lead. It will mark the first collaboration of Akshay with Rakul and this news has already got the fans excited.
Mission Lion and more
Akshay is doing another Mission film with Bhagnani’s and that is titled ’Mission Lion.’ Move over ‘Mission Impossible,’ as the Khiladi is creating his own Mission Universe in Bollywood.
In related news, Rakul Preet Singh is on a signing spree. After ’Mayday,’ ‘Thank God,’ ‘Doctor G’ and ’Chhatriwali,’ she has been chosen by Jackky Bhagnani for their next production, a film with Akshay Kumar again.
A source shared with Bollywood Hungama, “Jackky had taken three scripts to Akshay and he liked two of them. One was a Mudassar Aziz film which Rajkummar Rao might do now. The other was a film that Bell Bottom director Ranjit Tiwari is putting together. Akshay and Ranjit have worked together on Bell Bottom and when he heard the script, he loved it and immediately decided to do it. It is another inspiring tale and is expected to kickstart sometime this year. The film will have a short schedule and will be wrapped in around 35-40 days.”
When they were scouting for the main lead, they zeroed in on Rakul. The source further said, “Although Shraddha Kapoor and Kiara Advani were also in talks, Rakul bagged the part. They feel the chemistry she has with Ajay Devgan does not look awkward on screen despite the age difference and she would be a complete fit for this role as well. Apparently, the team is now working on the schedule and modalities before locking everything.”
