Akshay Kumar in Kuwaiti Theatre

The exciting announcement of Akshay Kumar’s next venture sent fans into frenzy last week as the seriously gripping plot

‘Airlift,’ for which filming will commence in 2015, will see Akshay play Ranjit Katyal, an influential, wealthy Indian businessman who finds himself in the midst of the Gulf War and unwittingly becomes the man who thousands look to for help escaping from war-torn Kuwait.

As the story unravels, viewers will see how Ranjit helps 170,000 Indians to escape danger and return to India in the biggest evacuation of its kind.

The storyline of Airlift screams grit, drama and intensity with the concept inspired by the real life incidents of human evacuation from war-zones, which we see on a daily basis.

Akshay is one of India’s most versatile actors, who excels in all his myriad film roles.

His portrayal in ‘Airlift’ will further demonstrate his multi-faceted acting persona and would be poles apart from his recent release, ‘Entertainment,’ a light-hearted comedy, which is continuing to flourish at the box office, having made over Rs 60 crores (about $12 million) since its release on 8th August.

Akshay Kumar is currently in South Africa, where he is enthralling audiences as he films ‘Dare 2 Dance,’ a dance show to be aired on ‘Life OK.’

The show will test the abilities and drive of dancers, who will face extreme challenges in their pursuit to be leaders in the world of dance – and who better then Akshay, not only a talented dancer but also a qualified Martial Arts expert, to judge their abilities?
