The Indian Newslink Indian Business Awards Presentation Ceremony held at Sky City Convention Centre in Auckland on November 18, 2013 was a remarkable occasion, showcasing successful Indian businesses in New Zealand.
The evening demonstrated the success achieved by Indian migrant entrepreneurs, as their counterparts have done across the globe.
Although New Zealand is a comparatively new location for many businesses of Indian origin, it is a matter of pride that they are recognised as partners in the country’s progress and prosperity.
New Zealand is a peaceful nation with a number of positive attributes, with political stability and a comparatively corruption-free administration.
It is great to see Indian businesses flourish, especially in food and hospitality, IT and Education sectors.
Fresh opportunities
The Christchurch rebuild programme has opened up several opportunities for Indian businesses and many new ventures have been established in the Canterbury region.
Everyone will soon be proud of contributions of the Indian community in rebuilding Christchurch and Canterbury.
I congratulate Indian Newslink and its management for establishing and conducting the prestigious Indian Business Awards programme and bringing together more than 800 businesses every year at a colourful event.
It was a delight to see leaders from various political parties, businesspersons and the Prince of Arcot Nawab Mohammed Abdulla Ali and other invited guests.
I was privileged to attend the event.
