A wise choice for Botany

The decision to select Chao-Fu Wu as the Labour candidate for Botany would provide voters in the Electorate an opportunity to elect a young, community-minded, constituent-focused professional to represent them in Parliament.

He will be an asset to the Botany electorate. He has a strong desire to serve local constituents and as an Auckland-raised young Kiwi-Chinese from Taiwan, he understands the needs and issues facing the Botany electorate.

As a Community Liaison interpreter for Public Hospitals, Immigration Services, Women’s Refuge, Customs and the New Zealand Police, Mr Wu has shown great commitment for public service and as a medical professional, he has helped many members of the community professionally.

One of the core philosophies of the Labour Party is its vision of an open and inclusive society.

Mr Wu represents many of the new-New Zealanders who originate from Asia but now call New Zealand home.

His elevation to contest the Botany seat at the November 26 General Election further enhances Labour’s vision of an inclusive society.

If elected, Mr Wu will have much to offer in Parliament.

As a physiotherapist, his opinions on the issues with ACC and the New Zealand health system will be valuable given the National Governments abysmal record in this area.

Raymond Huo is Member of Parliament on Labour List and the Party’s Spokesman for Chinese Community Affairs.
