A powerful factor in Temple construction

Good architecture, augmented by quality workmanship forms the most significant aspect of Hindu Temples around the world and the ‘Q’ factor is becoming evident in New Zealand.

A number of organisations in Auckland and Wellington are involved in construction of Temples for their favourite Deities, some under construction and a few in the early stages of planning. Such organisations are increasingly reliant on companies with an established reputation for experience and expertise.

Among such companies is the Auckland based Shakthi Construction Limited.

Its parent company, Shakthi Construction CC was established in 1994 in Durban as a family owned and operated business by the Singh brothers – Rishi, Neresh and Rajean.

From providing purely building services, the company expanded its capabilities into project infrastructure development and civil engineering work.

By the end of 2002, Shakthi Construction was recognised as preferred contractor for many public and private sector clients.

Impressive clientele

Incorporated in 2004, the New Zealand Company commenced operations in 2006 and has since acquired a long and impressive list of clients including AUT University of Technology, Manukau City Council, Waitakere City Council (which have since merged with Auckland Council), New Zealand Customs and a number of schools and public institutions.

Director Neresh Singh, who manages the business with his brothers Rishi and Rajean, said that Shakti Construction offered commitment with competitiveness.

He said construction of Temples was a combination of challenge, pride and joy.

“As the main contractors of the Shirdi Saibaba Temple in Auckland, we are aware of the financial and other constraints experienced by our clients.

“Shakthi Construction prides itself of such projects. Construction of Temples is a matter of prestige and personal involvement for our family company, which has imbibed ‘Santan Dharma’ from our parents,” he said.

Strong relationships

The Company aims to form strong and longstanding relationships with its clients.

Two decades of strong, customer focused approach and continued quest for high quality standards enabled it to attain and sustain a reputed position among its clients.

Its range of services includes project of different sizes from $5000 to $1.8 million. “Our diverse portfolio covers educational, residential, commercial and community projects,” Mr Singh said.

According to him, integrity, transparency, reliability and trustworthiness are among the finest attributes of Shakthi Construction, embellished by its penchant for excellence and delivery of uncompromised quality of service.

“Our expertise ranges from new residential buildings, refurbishment of old buildings, upgrading school facilities and commercial and community projects to industrial storage and warehouse,” he said.

Mr Singh said that client satisfaction formed the core objective of the Company.

“Every activity performed has a positive impact on our client’s benefits and adds value to their experience. We treat our clients with respect and cater to their precise requirements,” he said.
