The Asian Network Inc (TANI) recently delivered an interactive workshop to initiate an open dialogue to respond to continuously increasing family violence incidences in our communities.
The workshop, under the theme, ‘Developing human networks and strengthening families and communities,’ was designed to evince the interest of the community on family values and strengthen the campaign against family violence.
Local artist Georgia Barnaby captured the proceedings in art form, creating added value and interest among the participants, who included lawyers, consultants, counsellors, family violence service providers, neighbourhood support groups and a number of community champions.
They were all ready to take an active role in supporting the community and individuals.
The workshop provided a platform for frank exchange of views.
A lawyer and two counsellors offered free consultations and counselling sessions.
One of the greatest achievements of the event was that each participant gained at least two new acquaintances.
The participants said that they would continue to remain in contact, share views, work together and initiate discussions with neighbourhood support teams.

She creates hand-drawn visual records of ‘Path’ plans, goal setting meetings, strategic planning sessions and personal plans. She works with small groups, families, non-profit organisations and corporate services.
