Empowerment of women to achieve their goals in life, problems and challenges faced by them in their domestic and professional lives will be among the topics that will be discussed at a conference to be held in Rotorua next month.
Organised by the Women’s Group of the New Zealand Indian Central Association, the one-day event, to be held at Rydges Hotel (272 Fenton Street) on Saturday, April 6, will include group discussions and workshops.
Group Chairperson Ranjna Patel said that the Conference would under the theme, ‘Just do it.’
“The conference is a venture to inspire and motivate the women of today to realise their inner beauty and celebrate their womanhood. Each woman is a simple looking complex mix of diverse emotions that include the thoughts of her life-past and present, her apprehensions for the future, her home-the relations that are important, her profession, in short her emotions revolve around every thought that surrounds her,” she said.
As well as discussing the Hindu perspective of womanhood, the workshops segment will have presentations by the Police (Self-defence and safety), a cancer survivor (The big C is not the end) and other agencies.
Westpac Regional Area Manager Gina Dellabarca and a young entrepreneur in business would be among the speakers.
