As the Independent Panel of Judges of the Fifteenth Annual Indian Newslink Business Awards begins evaluation of the entries and organises interviews and site visits, we have commenced preparations to celebrate your success.

Entries to the Awards which began on March 1, 2024 concluded on August 31, 2024.

These deliberations will enable our Judges to determine the winners and announce them at the Awards Night scheduled to be held on Monday, November 25, 2024 from 5.30 pm at Pullman Hotel, Auckland City. While there will be ten winners in as many categories and one Supreme Business Award winner, hundreds of others including those who have filed entries and those attending the event will also be victors.

That is the ‘magic’ of the Indian Newslink Business Awards.

A highlight of the Awards Night this year will be a Panel Discussion looking into the future of several aspects of the world and New Zealand. We will provide more details in the future.

The Significance to Businesses

Apart from rewarding businesses for the success achieved during the financial year, the Indian Newslink Business Awards Programme encourages all entrants to do more than just file their entries. They are encouraged to structure a good Business Plan, implement proper purchasing and marketing strategies and comply with all regulatory procedures. The Judges also examine how businesses handle their income, reinvest profits back into the development of the company, invest in human and material resources and update technology. The holistic approach to judging has helped companies to look inward and grow.

Additionally, most entrants also involve their staff, external accountants and consultants to review the working of their company and seek improvements. Many large companies tell us that they ask their staff to form small teams to file the entry forms.

“This helps us to involve our staff in the Business Awards Programme and be recognised for success at the Awards Night. We book tables and a have good mixture of our staff and customers at this annual event,” the Chief Executive of a company that won the Supreme Business Award in addition to category Awards a few years ago.

Source of Inspiration

Businesses entering the Awards Programme say that they are inspired by our Panel of Judges.

“We are assured of confidentiality of the information including the financials and projections that we provide on the one hand and of the transparency on the other. Judges visit our offices, discuss our entries and advise us about improving the input. Our discussions with them have always been healthy and we look forward to their visit,” the Managing Director of a manufacturing company said.

The Panel this year includes the following: Chairman Chip Dawson, Chief Executive and Managing Director of International Business Management Limited, a global management consulting firm; Nevil Gibson, Past Editor-in-Chief of the National Business Review (NBR); Fiona Rotherham: Senior Journalist at the NBR; Sue Ironside: A Senior Lawyer and Director at IP Law Firm Ironside McDonald, Patent & Trade Mark Attorneys; Sandra Sweetman: Former General Manager of Operations at EasiYo Yogurt, and now an Independent Advisor to the Auckland Business Chamber; Paul Gestro: A Senior Director of ASB Access, Paul Gestro is on the Advisory Committee for the World Economic Forum; Clinton Swan: A Business Development and Marketing Director based in Singapore.

As reported earlier, external support provided by professionals is also gaining popularity in our Awards Programme. We have identified two experts who have helped many companies win Category Awards and the Supreme Business Award.
