Lovers of theatre went on a journey packed with drama, dance, music, comedy and laughter at a multicultural and multilingual event held in Auckland last fortnight.

Called, ‘Utopia,’ the Programme was organised under the theme, ‘Light amidst darkness’ by Euphoria Entertainment Inc at Glen Eden Playhouse Theatre on August 7, 2021.

The event showcased a Bengali theatrical production filled with fun, frolic and entertainment, which Founder and Producer Swastika Ganguly described as ‘Euphoria’s quintessential charisma and panache.’

Promoting Performing Arts

“No one can deny the fact that performing arts not only unify but also benefit us physically. Studies show that spending just 45 minutes on an art project can relieve stress, strengthen critical thinking skills and improve and sustain memory,” she said.

The Programme commenced with dance and music performances, including Nivadita Kar, who presented ‘Krishna Vandanam,’ and Parama Bose (Recitation), followed by a highlight of the evening- ‘Bhimbodh,’ a Bengali comedy drama.

Ms Ganguly and Sohini Bhattacharjee were the Masters of Ceremonies.

“At Euphoria, we aim to promote Indian music and Indian Regional Dance forms on the global platform. There is an urgent need to encourage regional music and classical and neo classical forms of dance to bridge the gap between the youth and our culture. It is a form that will never go out of fashion. It is here to stay. With that in mind, we had organised musical and dance performances by eminent performers this year,” Ms Ganguly said.
