New Zealand recorded just two cases of Covid-19 today.
Both are in Auckland, linked to St Margaret’s Hospital and Rest Home cluster. A Health Ministry statement said that both cases were household contacts of an employee at the Rest Home.
Covid-19 Numbers
According to the Health Ministry, the total number of confirmed cases thus far in 1136 while the number of probable ones are 351.
It said that 1266 persons have recovered, accounting for 85% of the total number of cases.
Eight persons are in hospital but none of them in ICU.
The total of confirmed and probable cases is 1487, while the number of confirmed cases is 1136.
There were 4634 tests completed yesterday, with a combined total to date of 150,223.
Director General of Health Dr Ashley Bloomfield reinforced the need to observe the rules of Alert 3 lockdown to prevent the spread of Covid-19.
“It is crucial that all New Zealanders stay vigilant and follow the guidelines of physical distancing, keeping to our bubbles, practicing good hand hygiene and if you’re unwell, staying away from others and seeking medical advice. Today’s numbers are encouraging but we cannot take them for granted. All of us have a part to play,” he said.
