Tis the Season to be Jolly: Christmas in West Auckland

The Christmas season is a time for giving, sharing, and caring. Christmas is typically associated with significant increases in consumer spending and West Auckland malls are decorated to welcome the season, with many retailers giving storewide discounts to entice shoppers.
Enchanted magical Christmas at West City
Meet Santa and get your picture taken with him at West City on Level 1 of Centre Court. Take a lovely stroll through the big Christmas tree to the indoor bush labyrinth to see Santa, who will be available for photos from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and until 7 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
West City is giving out a free sustainable cotton tote bag to customers who spend $50 or more (excludes Countdown; terms and conditions apply). This offer is only valid till December 23rd.
West City is offering a charitable gift-wrapping service where customers can make a cash or Eftpos donation of any amount to get their presents wrapped. All proceeds go to West Auckland Hospice. Gifts will be wrapped with Kiwiana Gift Wrapping Paper, which is created in New Zealand from recyclable and biodegradable paper. There is a maximum of three presents per individual, and size restrictions apply.  Gift wrapping services are available on level 2 near Foot Locker till December 24th from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and until 8 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays. Also, customers may enjoy late-night shopping from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day between the 15th and 23rd of December.

Westgate’s Winter Wonderland
Step into the pop-up Snow Globe at Westgate Shopping Centre and be transported to a Winter Wonderland! Experience the magic of Christmas as elves guide you through a ‘frozen’ wonderland to see Santa and pose for a professional portrait. Customers can pay $17 for a printout with a unique Christmas frame. The snow globe is decorated with snow-covered trees, candy canes, and lollipops. The photo-taking facility is open daily from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. till December 24th.
Westgate Shopping Centre is also hosting a free ice-skating rink for its customers. West Gate invites customers to enjoy a half-hour of fun on an artificial ice-skating rink, with helmets, gloves, and ice skates provided for free! This service is available daily from 10 am to 5 pm till December 24.
Seasons Greeting at Sylvia Park
Santa will be visiting Sylvia Park on Thu 15 Dec – Sun 18 Dec, 9 am – 7 pm, Mon 19 Dec – Wed 21 Dec, 9 am – 8 pm, Thu 22 – Fri 23 Dec, 9 am – 9 pm, and every child who visits him will receive a FREE (terms & conditions apply) colouring and activity book titled “Santa is Coming to New Zealand.” Pre-booking is advised.

Customers may wrap their gifts for a gold coin contribution, with all proceeds benefiting the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust. Gift wrapping services are available on the 15th and 16th of December from 12 pm to 8 pm, the 17th and 18th of December from 10 am to 9.30 pm, the 19th and 20th of December from 12 pm to 8 pm, the 21st and 23rd of December from 10 am to 10 pm, and the 24th of December from 10 am to 6 pm. There are gift-wrapping stations outside Mecca/Zara, H&M, and Pak n Save.
