The camera captures the bridal smile best

Every girl waits eagerly for her Wedding Day, as it not only signifies love and the binding of two lives but also the joining of two families.

We have moved away from the days when the first time we met our lifetime partners was at the marriage altar.

With the commonness of love marriages and dedicated websites, it is highly unlikely that brides would have the same stresses associated with arranged marriages.

I understand the high level of anxiety and expectation that every bride experiences on her wedding day. In my own experience, an Indian Wedding is an emotional rollercoaster.

Some of the most beautiful brides I have photographed have been those who smile wholeheartedly. They forget all the wedding stress and enjoy their special day, realising that this day comes only once in their lives and that they should keep smiling. They realise that the photographs taken on the occasion will become fond memories in later years.

Expression is the difference between a good photo and a great photo.

Here are a few tips for all brides-to-be.

Be comfortable: You cannot hide much from a camera lens; if you are uncomfortable, it will show in your photos. As a bride, you will be adorned with heavily embroidered outfits, makeup and jewellery. Try to be comfortable and move freely.

Be natural: Capturing an expression naturally is essential to wedding photography. Let your personality shine. Do not be caught up in being a bride that you forget to be you.

Enjoy each moment: Enjoy being pampered, even if it is with yellow spice. Cherish the small, intimate family moments, the festivities and experience the emotions around you.

You will thank yourself and of course your photographer in later years.
