The New Zealand Telugu Association (NZTA), based in Auckland, is organising a Blood Donation Drive on Thursday, February 8, 2018 between 3 pm and 730 pm at the New Zealand Blood Service located at 71 Great South Road, Epsom.
NZTA Joint Secretary Suneel Kuncha said in a statement that anyone in good health (subject to health check) can participate in the programme and donate their blood.
Open to all
“If you are a blood donor, you are a hero to someone, somewhere, who receive your gracious gift of life. One pint of blood can help save lives and the process would not take more than one hour. Eligible people should consider blood donation is a part of their responsibility to the community,” he said.
“We will be happy to arrange transport to those in need. All donors are requested to bring their identity (such as Passport or Driving Licence) which is current and valid,” he added.
The New Zealand Blood Bank is the sole provider of all requirements of blood in hospitals. The Bank collects blood, processes and sends it whenever and wherever required.
The Blood Bank
The Blood Bank needs healthy blood donors all the time, especially during the holiday period because need for blood does not stop.
