If talent comes packed in all shapes and sizes, the young man featured as the Talent of the Fortnight would be a bundle of joy, not just for his parents and members of the family but also for a growing circle of friends and associates.
Twenty-one-year-old Karan Bhatia is keen to make to make it big in Bollywood with proven talent but would have learnt the Art of Living even in Tinsel Town from his mother Rashmi, father Anil and sister Neha.
The professional interest that he evinces in modelling, singing and dancing, has taken him to national and international shows and to the heart of Bollywood featuring such celebrities as Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, Arjun Rampal, Kunal Kapoor, Sukhbir, Jay Sean, Sunidhi Chauhan and Shaan.
He is equally adept at cricket, soccer, basketball, to keep fit in each of which, he works out at his favourite gymnasium.
His academic life is replete with achievements too. He was among the top students in 2009 at the AUT University Business School, where he is pursuing a graduate course (BA).
Although entrepreneurship would beckon him with open arms, Karan may become a star in the Bollywood galaxy. His proclivity toward Show Business was evident when he completed (with substantial interest) an intensive 10-week Film and TV Acting course in Auckland last year.
“I have always been interested in performing, dancing, acting and modelling. I started dancing with Bollywood grooves in 2006 and improved my hip-hop and Bollywood dance abilities by performing at more than 20 entertainment events,” he said.
Can someone make a mark in the film industry without a Godfather?
“Defeat, diffidence and despair are words that do not exist in my dictionary. I am prepared to work hard, go an extra mile or two and establish myself as a good mannered and well-talented actor. I know I can achieve my goal in life. Hard and sincere work cannot go unrewarded,” Karan said.
Meanwhile, this young man will continue to enjoy life with family and friends.
“I love driving fast cars (he should know that Auckland streets now abound with speed-detecting cameras). I also enjoy skydiving, bungee jumping and water sports,” he said.
