Sir Stephen Tindall for our Lecture this year

Venkat Raman

We are happy to announce that Sir Stephen Tindall, one of the most respected business leaders of New Zealand will be the Guest Speaker at the Indian Newslink Sir Anand Satyanand Lecture scheduled to be held on Monday, July 9, 2018 at Pullman Hotel, Auckland.

Sir Stephen will speak on ‘Contributing to a Stronger New Zealand,’ outlining the establishment of The Warehouse Group (he was its Founder-Chairman) and how the Group continues its principles of ethical sourcing, building communities and working with the environment.

He will also explain the working of ‘K1W1,’ an investment company owned by him through which about 200 investments have been made in mostly start-up New Zealand companies, all of which have aspirations to go global. Some of them have achieved their objectives, bringing wealth back to New Zealand.

The Tindall Foundation

The Tindall Foundation is one of the most important aspects of Sir Tindall’s involvement in building a stronger New Zealand. A Family Foundation established by him and his wife Margaret in 1994, it provides donations (on its own and in partnership with others) to organisations and communities throughout New Zealand and helps them in capacity building and research.

“We were, and still are, passionate about helping New Zealanders to live healthy and happy lives and for our communities to be strong and prosperous. We began by supporting families and social services, and then extended our giving to include environmental initiatives and those that create employment and encourage enterprise, strengthen the community sector and promote generosity and giving,” Sir Stephen said on his Foundation website.

“More than Money” is the theme of the Tindall Foundation, which is involved in social and environmental development.

We will provide more information about Sir Tindall and the organisations with which he is involved in our ensuing issues.
