Hundreds of students are now training to participate in an energetic dance competition due to be held in Auckland later this month.
Organised by Adam Ali and his son Azar of ‘Ace Talent Promotions,’ the event will commence at 5 pm at the BNZ Theatre of Vodafone Events Centre located at 770 Great South Road, Manukau.
Called, ‘Da Dance Off,’ the competition, designed for Intermediate and High School students will allow each team to present a dance number for six minutes.
Teachers of the participating schools will determine the number of students in their team and provide them appropriate training.
Nationwide contest
Adam said that from a small beginning in 2010, the competition has grown to reach a larger venue.
“This is a nationwide competition that allows school children to showcase their talent. It has been designed to fit into the school calendar and curriculum. The performances can be filmed for NCEA assessments if required,” he said.
Azar said that ‘Ace Talent Promotions’ is dedicated to supporting Schools in all ways possible.
“The competition has a strong emphasis on participation and judging is based on synchronisation, formation, stunts, costume, character, team spirit, use of props, lighting, acting and movement,” he said.
