The Annual Sports and Cultural Convention of the New Zealand Sangam will be held at the Mangere Centre Park Stadium in Auckland from November 7 to 9, 2014.
The official opening ceremony will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 10 am followed by a Fiji style team parade and a float procession.
The New Zealand Sangam Golf Tournament 2014 will be held on Sunday, November 2 and is open to all Sangam and Non-Sangam Golfers, with prizes awarded to winners in both categories.

Event Chairperson Pranesh Gounder said that the Convention this year will be different, exciting and ‘full of fun’ for the family.
“The Sangam Convention has been organised for the members of Sangam, their families and friends to showcase the Sangam heritage and culture in New Zealand. The weekend event welcomes the whole family to experience non-stop fun and entertainment with competitions in Soccer, Volleyball and Golf. We expect participants from Auckland, Waikato, Hawkes Bay and Manawatu region,” he said.
NZ Sangam Idol
The New Zealand Sangam Idol Contest and Awards Night will be held on Saturday, November 8 at 8 pm at Mangere Centre Park. Competitors will demonstrate their talent in traditional South Indian and contemporary dance and music.
The evening will also recognise and reward inspiring members and associates for their service to Sangam.
