If you know Ankur Shama (pictured here) or have any information about him, please contact Manukau Police on (09) 2611399 or inform CrimeStoppers anonymously on 0800-555111.
According to Manurewa Police, the 23-year-old Indian (born on September 14, 1989) has been missing from June 9 and no one seems to know of his whereabouts.
Mr Sharma has been described as being 5’ 6” to 5’ 8” (168 cms to 173 cms) tall with a skinny build. He is known to wear a leather jacket and stonewashed jeans.
He was last known to be living in Manurewa, but he is more likely to be somewhere in the Auckland City area.
Detective Grant Arrowsmith of Manurewa CIB said that Mr Sharma’s family in India have not seen or heard from their son for several weeks and that they are keen to know that he is well.
“At this stage, we are treating this as a case of missing person. We have no reason to suspect anything untoward has occurred to Mr Sharma but obviously we would like to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard from him so that we can reassure everyone, including his worried family that he is okay,” he said.
“Alternatively, Mr Sharma is asked to get in touch with us directly, or anonymously with no strings attached, so that we can reassure everyone who is concerned about him that he is safe and well,” he added.
According to Mr Arrowsmith, Mr Sharma arrived in New Zealand on February 14, 2013 on a student visa and had recently obtained a work visa valid until March 2014.
