His passion for photography ran through his dreams at school and family.
That was 30 years ago. Today Harpal Lohi is a name associated with high standards of professionalism, quality service and most important of all, a penchant for distinction that is seen in every project.
The owner of Pal Video & Photo Productions Limited, based in South Auckland suburb of Papatoetoe says, “Every job is an assignment, which becomes a project.”
“Companies, community groups and individuals appreciate our professional approach, which is perhaps why we are among the preferred photographers and videographers for individuals and institutions. We also produce commercials for radio and television, offering a wide range of services,” he said.
He uses the latest digital professional camera equipment along with appropriate software to create an everlasting and genuine DVD of all events.
While others may be tempted to take on a number of jobs simultaneously, Mr Lohi believes in no more than one project at a time.
“Every client deserves quality time and attention, which can be provided only with exclusive attention. As soon as we complete the necessary formalities with the client, the day is reserved and I would be at the venue with my staff early to make proper arrangements for coverage,” he said.
As well as major projects, the Company does passport photographs, family portraits, portfolios of models, graphic designing and preparation of albums.
“Our other services include system conversion (Pal to NTSC and vice-versa), equipment hire, DVD and Video Cassette recording and related services. Our package also contains a number of incentives to customers,” he said.
Despite recession his enterprise continues to grow, and will soon move to new premises with enhanced studios.
Despite a busy schedule, Mr Lohi finds time for community work, which includes community patrol for ‘Botany Crime Watch,’ voluntary work at the Gurdwara and participation in games that are popular with the Sikh community.
