Members of the Pakistani community have been invited to participate in the Independence Day Celebrations scheduled to be held later this month.
The Pakistan Association New Zealand will mark the historic occasion in this political history along with Eid Al Fitr at Dorothy Winstone Centre, Auckland Girls Grammar School from 4 pm on Saturday, August 24, 2013.
Association President Athar Awan said that the programme would include speeches, patriotic songs and entertainment.
“This invitation is for all Pakistanis living in New Zealand,” he said.
Career Focus
He said that Professional Wing of the Association is organising a career-focused brainstorming Seminar for new professionals, families and students.
It will be held at Mt Albert Senior Citizen’s Hall (773 New North Road) in Mt Albert, Auckland on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from 7 pm.
“The Seminar will enable the participants to enter the workforce with a clear understanding of what they want to do, where to look for job opportunities and how they can contribute positively to their employers and to the society,” he said.
Mr Awan said that the Seminar would benefit even those who are currently employed but not enthusiastic about their work.
“It would appeal and motivate parents currently not in employment to re-enter the workforce and people who are about to retire but considering some type of work. Most importantly, the Seminar will be useful to people who are not employed and are reconsidering their career path,” he said.
